AFTERMATH

In June 2017, one of the deadliest fires ever seen in Europe raged through Portugal for several days. A week later, after the fire was brought under control, we went there to see what was left. What was left were hundreds of destroyed houses. People picking up the pieces. Over 60 families mourning over the loss of a loved one. Soldiers and firemen working day and night. And surrounding these scenes a vast, blackened landscape, seemingly endless.
